Why should you read the title?

Sep 30, 2014

When you read or listen it’s important that you have idea of what it’s going to be about first. It doesn’t matter if you’re wrong or right, as long as you have some kind of picture in your head it will make it easier for you to understand the text. This is because it’s much harder for your mind to ‘decode’ the text word by word and instead it very quickly matches the ideas in what you are reading or listening to, to the picture in your head to see if it’s the same or not. That’s why you always have to read the title! This is the easiest way that you can get your brain working in this way in the classroom or at home!
