How important is a vocabulary notebook?!

Jun 24, 2014

Do you have a vocabulary book? Do you record all the new English vocabulary that you hear and see or learn in your class every day? It’s a good idea to do this because it helps you to remember the new words. Some people say you need to use, see, write or speak a word up to nine times before you remember it! So you should definitely write it down so you can study it at home, on the bus or a long and boring tube journey. Try not to write down a translation in your own language, but a meaning in English instead, because then you are thinking in English not in your own language – the more you think and use English, the more you will learn and progress!
