There's an app for almost everything these days, and learning English is no exception! There are hundreds of brilliant apps out there, many of which are free, to help you improve grammar, listening, speaking and translation skills outside of your English language class. To help you choose, we've compiled our top five apps that will help to make learning English as easy as possible. 1. Practice English Grammar - http://www.practiceenglishgrammar.com/home This free iOS and Android app uses a combination of games, flashcards and articles to help you improve your English grammar. We all tend to learn better when we're tested regularly on our knowledge with short quizzes, particularly on tough subjects like grammar. The app is suitable for both absolute beginners and advanced learners, so it's a great one for all English learners to try. 2. Duolingo - https://www.duolingo.com/ If you love getting stuck into addictive mobile games, Duolingo is the app for you. It has bite sized English language lessons followed by a race against the clock to answer as many questions correctly as possible so that you can level up. It really does make learning fun, and covers a wide range of translation, listening, speaking and multiple choice questions. You won't feel like you're learning at all when you get caught up in the game! 3. SpeakingPal - https://www.speakingpal.com/ For those who need a little extra help in speaking English with confidence, SpeakingPal is a great app. It has free video lessons and uses your phone's microphone, so that you can speak as one of the characters in each video. Then, it lets you know how you got on by rating your speaking performance. There are over 100 different levels with 1000 different dialogues, so you'll certainly be kept busy for a while with this app. 4. Two Min English - http://twominenglish.com/ This free app provides short, easy to digest two-minute lessons in English, so that you can improve your language skills whenever you have a short amount of free time to kill. Many of the lessons are designed around specific subject areas, like ordering in English restaurants, speaking English when travelling, and making new friends, so not only does your understanding of the language improve, but you also get to learn a little more about English culture and can learn language skills for real life scenarios. 5. British Council LearnEnglish Apps - http://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en/apps The British Council have so many brilliant LearnEnglish apps that we couldn't possibly just pick one! From grammar to vocabulary, pronunciation and culture apps as well as some fun games, they've got a little bit of everything to support you throughout your English language classes.
